PCM was developed by American clinical psychologist, Dr. Taibi Kahler. As a researcher of Transactional Analysis, he discovered universal patterns of distress behavior and identified the conditions that individuals need in order to thrive. In addition, Kahler also discovered six personality types that we all have in us, and can connect to. This discovery allows every one of us to predict stress behavior, implement prevention strategies and reinforce positive changes. Kahler’s insights resulted in extensive qualitative and quantitative research, making them universally applicable.
From out-of-this-world, to the business world
In the late 1970’s Dr. Kahler was asked by the Lead Psychiatrist at NASA to join him in the selection of astronauts. Subsequently, Kahler formed Kahler Communication Inc., validated the Personality Pattern Inventory®, and created the Process Communication Model®. During the 1980s and 90s, Kahler trained businesses and governmental institutions. Kahler’s philosophy: don’t box people, but appreciate, celebrate and leverage their differences.
